First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested a robot designed to engage older adults with mild cognitive impairment or Alzheimer's living in nursing homes. 142 participants were split into two groups: one continued usual activities, the other also spent time with the robot. Researchers measured changes in apathy over 8 weeks to see if the robot helped reduce feelings of withdrawal and lack of interest.
