NCT ID NCT06811389

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a 10-week program called RISE-HP for people with hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP), a lung condition that can cause anxiety, depression, and poor quality of life. Participants work one-on-one with a trained peer coach (someone who also has HP) to learn coping skills and get disease education. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and helps people feel better. The study compares RISE-HP to a general health education program and will enroll 42 adults in the U.S.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ€” not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
behavioral intervention (peer coaching with cognitive behavioral therapy and education)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a new way to help people with hypersensitivity pneumonitis feel better day-to-day and manage their condition more effectively.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study (42 people) testing a behavioral program, not a drug. It may not show clear benefits, and results may not apply to everyone with HP.
