First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether a numbing injection (retrolaminar block) given before lumbar spine fusion surgery can lower the amount of strong painkillers (opioids) needed afterward. About 44 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either the real block or a fake one. The main goal is to see if the block reduces opioid use in the first 24 hours after surgery.
