Summary

This study tests a surgical technique called retrograde elastic nailing with a pollar K-wire for children aged 3-15 with hard-to-heal wrist fractures. What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

retrograde elastic nailing with pollar K-wire

What this could lead to

If successful, this surgical approach could offer a reliable way to fix difficult wrist fractures in children, reducing the need for repeated procedures.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early study with only 20 participants and no comparison group. The results may not apply to all children, and surgery always carries risks like infection or nerve injury.
