Eye camera reveals hidden clues to multiple sclerosis progression

NCT ID NCT04289909

First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tested a special eye-imaging technique called adaptive optics to look at blood vessel changes in the retina of people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Researchers measured swelling around retinal vessels in 50 participants with different MS types and compared them to healthy controls. The goal was to see if these changes could help track the disease early, but the study was only for observation and did not offer any treatment.
