New algorithm may improve repeat heart procedure for AF patients

NCT ID NCT05477147

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tested a new computer algorithm (VX1) to guide repeat catheter ablation in 96 people with atrial fibrillation (AF) whose previous ablation didn't work. The goal was to see if the tailored approach could keep patients free from AF episodes lasting more than 30 seconds for one year after the procedure. The approach aims to better control the heart rhythm condition, not cure it.
