NCT ID NCT05063591
First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether covering the cost of blood transfusions would encourage people with blood cancers to enroll in hospice care earlier. Many blood cancer patients need regular transfusions for symptom relief, but hospices often can't afford to provide them. The study offered to pay for transfusions for 18 patients who chose hospice, aiming to see if this would increase hospice enrollment and improve quality of life at the end of life.
