Scientists test best way to combine two common anesthetics
NCT ID NCT07620782
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how two drugs used for general anesthesia—remimazolam and sevoflurane—interact with each other. Researchers will give 80 adults having laparoscopic surgery different combinations of these drugs and measure their brain activity. The goal is to find the best way to use them together for safer anesthesia.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
remimazolam and sevoflurane
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help doctors better understand how to combine these two anesthetics for safer and more predictable anesthesia during surgery.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase study focused on modeling drug interactions, not on treating a disease. The results may not directly change clinical practice.
