First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares three ways to remove carbon dioxide gas left in the belly after laparoscopic surgery to see which one reduces pain the most. 150 adults having non-emergency laparoscopic surgery will be randomly assigned to active gas removal, breathing maneuvers, or no extra steps. The goal is to find the best method to lower shoulder pain and the need for opioid painkillers after surgery.
