New hope for sarcoma: drug may stall tumor growth

NCT ID NCT01900743

First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tested the drug regorafenib in 219 people with soft tissue sarcoma that had spread and was no longer responding to standard chemotherapy. Participants were randomly assigned to receive either regorafenib or a placebo. The goal was to see if the drug could slow cancer growth and improve survival. The trial is complete, and results help doctors understand if this treatment can help control the disease.
