Can a Patient's own immune cells fight advanced sarcoma?

NCT ID NCT07741877

First seen Aug 03, 2026 · Last updated Aug 04, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This phase 2 trial is testing whether lifileucel, a therapy made from a patient's own tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (immune cells), can shrink tumors in adults with advanced soft tissue sarcoma. Participants will have their tumor removed to create the personalized therapy, then receive a short course of chemotherapy followed by the lifileucel infusion and a brief course of aldesleukin. The study focuses on two types of sarcoma: undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma and dedifferentiated liposarcoma, and will measure how many patients respond to treatment.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
lifileucel (tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, also known as LN-145), given after a preparative chemotherapy regimen and followed by a short course of aldesleukin (interleukin-2)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for people with advanced soft tissue sarcoma, potentially shrinking tumors and improving outcomes.
What could go wrong
This is a phase 2 trial, so the treatment may not work for everyone and could have significant side effects, including reactions to the chemotherapy and immune-related effects.
