Summary

This study tests a device called PTeye™ that uses near-infrared light to help surgeons see and protect tiny parathyroid glands during total thyroid removal. About 210 adults in Hong Kong will be randomly assigned to standard surgery or PTeye™-assisted surgery. The goal is to see if the device reduces the rate of dangerously low calcium levels after the operation.
