First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests whether a telehealth pain management program can help veterans who have surgery outside the VA avoid becoming long-term opioid users. About 400 veterans having orthopedic surgery through community care will either receive the telehealth program or standard care. The goal is to see if the program reduces opioid use beyond 90 days after surgery and improves pain control.
