First seen Mar 12, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at ways to reduce the overuse of strong antibiotics in adults hospitalized with community-acquired pneumonia. Researchers are testing two approaches: rapid tests to identify the cause of infection faster, and pharmacist-led efforts to stop antibiotics when they are not needed. The goal is to give the right treatment while reducing side effects and drug resistance.
