New study tests nicotine alternatives to help HIV patients kick the habit

Summary
This study tests whether giving people with HIV a choice of nicotine replacement products (like e-cigarettes, nicotine pouches, or patches) helps them quit smoking tobacco. About 972 smokers from the Swiss HIV Cohort Study will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or a menu of nicotine alternatives. The main goal is to see if more people report not smoking for 7 days after 6 months.
