Nerve block may ease pain and improve breathing after abdominal surgery

Summary

This study looks at whether a rectus sheath block, a type of nerve block, can improve breathing and reduce pain after major upper abdominal surgery. About 60 adults having planned surgery with a midline cut will be included. Researchers will measure diaphragm movement and pain scores to see if the block helps recovery.
