First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a PAP machine (a device that helps keep your airway open during sleep) can improve recovery after a stroke. Researchers will enroll 360 people who have had an ischemic stroke and also have moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea. Half will receive PAP treatment plus usual care, and the other half will receive usual care alone. The goal is to see if PAP therapy leads to better functional outcomes, like being able to perform daily activities independently.
