First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests a drug called DISC-0974 in 21 adults with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) who also have anemia caused by inflammation. The study aims to see if the drug safely raises hemoglobin levels compared to a placebo. Participants receive injections of either DISC-0974 or a placebo, and researchers monitor changes in blood counts and side effects over about three months.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a new treatment option for anemia in people with inflammatory bowel disease, improving energy and quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 21 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may not work or could cause side effects.
