NCT ID NCT03377517
First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether a single, highly focused dose of radiation to the pituitary gland could relieve severe bone pain in people with cancer that has spread to the bones. Only 5 participants were enrolled before the study was stopped early. The goal was to see if this approach could reduce pain when standard treatments like opioids or other procedures have failed.
