Quercetin supplement tested to boost blood vessel health in obesity
NCT ID NCT06683534
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This phase 2 trial tests whether quercetin, a dietary supplement found in many fruits and vegetables, can improve the function of tiny blood vessels in young adults with obesity. Forty participants will take either quercetin or a placebo daily for 30 days. Researchers will measure blood vessel dilation and density using a camera under the tongue and laser probes on the forearm.

quercetin (dietary supplement)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple supplement to protect blood vessels in people with obesity.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial with only 40 participants. The supplement may not improve blood vessel function, and results may not apply to everyone.
