Wrist pulse reader could spot heart failure early

NCT ID NCT07376993

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study is testing a device that reads wrist pulses to help diagnose heart failure. Heart failure is often missed in primary care because its symptoms overlap with other conditions. The device uses a sensor and AI to detect pulse patterns linked to heart failure. Researchers will collect pulse data from 60 heart failure patients and compare it to people without the condition.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could lead to a simple, non-invasive device for early heart failure detection in clinics or at home.

What could go wrong

This is an early-stage study with only 60 participants, so the device may not prove accurate enough for widespread use.
