First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding a brief crisis coping strategy (Crisis Response Planning) to a standard talk therapy (Cognitive Processing Therapy) can lower suicidal thoughts and behaviors in veterans with PTSD. About 190 active-duty service members and veterans with PTSD and recent suicidal thoughts will take part. The goal is to see if the combined approach is more effective than therapy alone.
