VA launches major search for sleep aid to help veterans with PTSD nightmares

Summary
This large VA study aims to find out if the medications trazodone or eszopiclone can help reduce insomnia in Veterans with PTSD. It enrolled 673 participants to compare these two common sleep aids against a placebo over 12 weeks. The goal is to provide better, evidence-based treatment for the severe sleep problems that often accompany PTSD.
