NCT ID NCT06047691
First seen Sep 17, 2026 · Last updated Sep 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
Researchers are testing a two-day group therapy program for military couples where one partner has PTSD. The program, called AIM-CBCT for PTSD, teaches couples skills to manage PTSD symptoms and improve their relationship. They compare it with a standard relationship education program to see which works better. About 120 couples will take part.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- an intensive two-day group therapy program for couples, called AIM-CBCT for PTSD
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer military couples a short, intensive way to reduce PTSD symptoms and improve their relationships together.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early trial, so results may not hold up in larger groups or other settings. Therapy takes effort and time, and not every couple may benefit.
