Service dogs boost PTSD therapy in new trial
NCT ID NCT06723834
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looks at whether having a psychiatric service dog helps veterans with PTSD get more out of a standard therapy called prolonged exposure therapy. About 216 veterans who already qualify for a service dog will take part. The goal is to see if the dog-and-therapy combo reduces PTSD symptoms more than therapy alone.
