New Scan-Guided radiation aims to cut side effects in recurrent prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT07234981

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether using a special PET scan (PSMA-PET) to guide radiation can reduce short-term side effects in men whose prostate cancer returns after surgery. About 54 men will receive targeted radiation to the pelvis plus a boost to spots seen on the scan, along with standard hormone therapy. The goal is to see if this approach causes fewer moderate-to-severe side effects than standard radiation while still controlling the cancer.
