First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a 3-year lifestyle program for 1,305 Brazilian adults at high risk for type 2 diabetes. The program combines in-person and online counseling on diet, exercise, sleep, and stress. Researchers will track who develops diabetes and measure weight, blood sugar, and quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
structured lifestyle intervention (diet, exercise, sleep, stress management counseling)
What this could lead to
If successful, this program could offer an effective, scalable way to prevent type 2 diabetes in high-risk populations, reducing the burden of the disease.
What could go wrong
This is a large trial but still early in real-world application. Lifestyle changes are hard to maintain, and results may vary by individual or community factors.
