New study aims to protect hearts during breast cancer radiation

Summary

This study looks at whether proton beam radiation causes less damage to the heart than standard photon radiation in people with left-sided breast cancer. About 60 participants will receive either proton or photon therapy, and their hearts will be checked with MRI scans. The goal is to see which method is safer for the heart.
