First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looked at 185 men with low-risk prostate cancer who chose active surveillance (monitoring instead of immediate treatment). Researchers used a genetic risk score based on common DNA variants to see if it could predict when the cancer might progress. The goal is to help doctors decide who needs closer monitoring or earlier treatment.
