New scanner aims to sharpen prostate cancer detection

NCT ID NCT06353321

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new PET-CT scanner (RefleXion X1) can detect prostate cancer as well as standard scanners. About 25 men with prostate cancer who are already scheduled for a standard PSMA-PET scan will get an extra scan on the new machine the same day. The goal is to see if the new scanner clearly shows cancer spots, which could help guide future treatments.
