Can AI-Powered MRI analysis outsmart prostate cancer?

NCT ID NCT06126172

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether detailed analysis of MRI scans (called radiomics) can better predict how aggressive a prostate cancer is and whether it will come back soon after surgery. Researchers will study 125 men with prostate cancer who have an MRI before treatment. The goal is to improve risk assessment so that patients get the right level of treatment.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) with radiomics analysis

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help doctors more accurately determine which prostate cancers are aggressive and need immediate treatment versus those that can be safely monitored.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, so it won't directly benefit participants. The results may not change current practice until confirmed in larger, more diverse groups.
