New database to track freezing therapy for prostate cancer
NCT ID NCT07184957
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Aug 07, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is creating a database to track what happens to men with localized prostate cancer who choose cryotherapy (freezing the tumor). Researchers will record side effects and how long it takes for PSA levels to rise again. Up to 1,000 men will be followed over time to gather real-world data on this treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- cryotherapy (freezing treatment)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this database could help doctors better understand who benefits most from cryotherapy for prostate cancer and improve treatment decisions.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational database, not a controlled trial. It cannot prove cryotherapy is better than other treatments, and results may take years to emerge.
