Could a tiny embolization keep prostate cancer in check?
NCT ID NCT03407963
First seen Dec 24, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether blocking the blood supply to one side of the prostate (prostatic arterial embolization) can control low-risk prostate cancer in men who are already on active surveillance. Ten men with unilateral, low-volume tumors participated. The main goals were to see if the procedure is safe and whether it can eliminate cancer cells in the treated area, potentially avoiding the need for more aggressive treatments like surgery or radiation.
