Summary
Hormone therapy for prostate cancer often causes muscle loss, which may weaken the immune system by reducing a key signalling protein called IL-7. This trial tests whether a 12-week supervised strength training programme can prevent muscle loss and raise IL-7 levels in men receiving hormone therapy before radiotherapy. Forty men will be randomly assigned to either the exercise programme or usual care, with blood tests and body composition scans before and after the 12 weeks.
