Can special goggles help Parkinson's patients see and feel better?
NCT ID NCT06341829
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study explores whether wearing prismatic goggles that shift vision can improve emotional awareness (alexithymia) and visual-spatial abilities in people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers will also use brain scans and tear tests to understand how the brain adapts and to find new biomarkers. The trial involves 126 participants with mild Parkinson's and aims to see if this simple, non-invasive technique can boost quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a non-invasive way to ease certain Parkinson's symptoms like emotional numbness and spatial awareness issues.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study with only 126 participants, so results may not apply widely. The intervention is experimental and may not produce lasting benefits.
