NCT ID NCT07502209
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study compares two methods of pulsed radiofrequency treatment for the suprascapular nerve in people with chronic shoulder pain from rotator cuff problems. Thirty-two adults aged 40 to 80 will be randomly assigned to receive the treatment at either the suprascapular notch or a midpoint approach. Researchers will measure pain, shoulder function, muscle strength, and quality of life over three months to see which approach works better.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- pulsed radiofrequency treatment
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could show which approach (notch or midpoint) works better for reducing pain and improving shoulder function in people with chronic shoulder pain.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 32 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The treatment is for symptom relief, not a cure, and benefits may be modest or temporary.
