New study aims to stop Post-Surgery brain fog in seniors
NCT ID NCT07576517
First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether giving older adults (65-90 years) a combination of two medicines (dexmedetomidine and esketamine) along with a gentle brain stimulation technique (tDCS) before and after surgery can prevent confusion and memory problems. About 1,160 participants will be followed to see if these treatments help protect their thinking skills. The goal is to find a safe way to reduce brain-related complications after non-cardiac surgery.
