New program aims to cut hip fractures in nursing homes
NCT ID NCT04947722
First seen Jul 13, 2026 · Last updated Jul 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a program called PREVENT designed to reduce hip fractures in long-term care homes. The program uses a risk calculator based on residents' health records to identify those at high risk, then trains healthcare staff on the latest fracture prevention recommendations. Researchers will compare hip fracture rates between homes using the program and those providing usual care.
