First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study follows 211 pregnant women to find out why some develop lasting back or pelvic pain during pregnancy and after childbirth. Researchers will measure body awareness, fear of movement, stress, and inflammation through questionnaires, balance tests, and blood samples. The goal is to identify early warning signs so that future treatments can be more targeted and effective.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help doctors identify women at risk for long-term pregnancy-related back pain and develop better prevention and treatment strategies.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It aims to understand causes, not test a therapy. Results may not lead to immediate changes in care.
