Pre-surgery rehab shows promise for rare shoulder deformity in child

NCT ID NCT07283302

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at whether a structured physical therapy program before surgery could help an 11-year-old girl with a deformed upper arm bone. The girl had chronic bone infection that left her with shoulder deformity. Over 12 sessions, she received treatments like electrical nerve stimulation, laser therapy, manual therapy, and exercises. The goal was to see if her shoulder movement, strength, pain, and daily function improved. Because this is a single-patient case report, the findings are very preliminary and may not apply to others.
