NCT ID NCT06218836

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether using a pre-inflated tracheal tube cuff during intubation reduces sore throat after surgery. 250 adults with non-difficult airways were randomly assigned to either the pre-inflated cuff method or the standard deflated cuff method. The goal was to see if reducing friction from the cuff passing through the throat lowers the chance of postoperative sore throat.
