Summary
This study tests whether a topical 10% povidone-iodine solution can prevent white spot lesions on the front teeth of teens undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment. Healthy participants aged 10 to 17 will receive either the iodine solution or a placebo applied to all tooth surfaces at the start of treatment and again at 3, 6, and 9 months. Researchers will compare the development of white spots and gum health between the two groups over one year.
