Could placental wraps heal stubborn ulcers? new trial begins

NCT ID NCT07364630

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether special wraps made from human placental membrane can help heal diabetic foot ulcers and venous leg ulcers that won't close on their own. About 50 adults with diabetes or venous disease will receive weekly applications of one of four placental membrane products plus standard care for up to 12 weeks. The main goal is to see how many ulcers fully close during that time.

What this could lead to
If successful, these placental membrane wraps could offer a new, effective option to help heal stubborn diabetic foot and venous leg ulcers faster.
