NCT ID NCT07464093

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether Pilates, a gentle mind-body exercise, can help manage pain and other symptoms in people with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome or hypermobility spectrum disorder. One hundred adults with persistent pain will be randomly assigned to either Pilates classes or educational seminars. The main goal is to see if the program is feasible and acceptable, with pain levels also measured as a secondary outcome.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a gentle exercise option to help manage pain and improve daily life for people with hypermobility conditions.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study, not a large trial. It may not show clear benefits, and results may not apply to everyone with hypermobility.
