Can a doctor's note to an exercise coach get people moving?
NCT ID NCT04947787
First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tested a program where doctors refer inactive people with chronic diseases (like diabetes, heart disease, or obesity) to exercise professionals for support. 168 adults in Germany took part, with some getting extra help from exercise experts and others just getting advice from their doctor. Researchers measured changes in physical activity and quality of life over 12 and 24 weeks to see if the referral program works better than advice alone.
