New hope for amputees: brain zaps and mirrors fight phantom pain

Summary

This study tests two treatments—mirror therapy and mild brain stimulation (tDCS)—to help people with phantom limb pain after a leg amputation. 132 adults with chronic pain will be assigned to one of four groups to see which combination works best. The goal is to reduce pain over 4 weeks.
