New MRI technique could help surgeons find hidden brain tumor cells

NCT ID NCT06176066

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new MRI technique that spots acidic areas around glioblastoma tumors, which may contain cancer cells not visible on standard scans. About 18 adults with newly diagnosed or recurrent glioblastoma will have surgery guided by this method to safely remove more tumor. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and may help patients live longer without their cancer growing back.
