New MRI technique could help surgeons see and remove hidden brain tumor cells
NCT ID NCT06176066
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This early-stage study tests whether a special MRI scan (CEST-EPI) can help surgeons see and remove more aggressive brain tumor (glioblastoma) cells that standard scans miss. About 18 adults with newly diagnosed or recurrent glioblastoma will have surgery guided by this pH-sensitive imaging. The main goal is to check safety, with a secondary look at whether this approach might extend how long people live without the cancer growing.
