NCT ID NCT07536321
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will follow 46 people treated for stage III rectal cancer to see if PET-CT scans can help doctors make better treatment decisions during routine follow-up. Participants will already be getting these scans as part of their care and will be tracked for 5 years. The goal is to learn how useful the scans are for spotting problems and predicting outcomes.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that PET-CT scans are useful for deciding next steps in colorectal cancer follow-up care.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small observational study, not a treatment trial. It only looks at scans, not new therapies, so it may not change practice directly.
