Tailored nutrition shakes aim to help older trauma patients bounce back faster
NCT ID NCT05544162
First seen Jun 14, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 14, 2026
Summary
This pilot study tested whether a personalized nutrition plan (called SeND Home) is practical for older adults (60+) recovering from a traumatic injury. 40 participants were randomly assigned to receive either the personalized plan (including nutrition shakes up to 3 times daily in the hospital and for 4 weeks after discharge) or standard care. The main goal was to see if the plan was feasible, not to measure health outcomes.
