Personalized exercise program aims to boost mobility in rare muscle diseases

NCT ID NCT06708468

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a personalized exercise program can improve balance and physical function in adults with rare neuromuscular disorders like Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, and myotonic dystrophy type 1. Participants will receive a 12-day in-center exercise program followed by digital support and a second in-center session, or continue with usual care. The goal is to see if tailored strength and balance exercises lead to better mobility and quality of life.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could provide a tailored exercise approach to improve balance and daily function for people with rare neuromuscular disorders.

What could go wrong
